Shine From the Inside Out

Sustainability

At Hartpury Primary, we care deeply about looking after our planet and helping pupils understand the importance of protecting the environment. We believe schools can lead by example, inspiring positive change and showing that even small actions add up to a big impact.

Let’s Go Zero
We have signed up to the national Let’s Go Zero campaign, pledging to become a zero-carbon school by 2030. By joining schools across the country, we are sending a clear message that together we can tackle climate change and secure a better future for our children.

Our Climate Action Plan outlines the practical steps we will take to cut our carbon footprint across school life. From reducing energy use and waste to encouraging sustainable travel and supporting biodiversity, we are committed to making choices that benefit both our community and the wider world.

ECO- CLUB

Hartpury children care deeply about environmental issues and have a strong desire to actively protect our planet. However, environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity-loss, or plastic pollution are huge global issues and the thought of tackling them can be intimidating.

The Eco-Schools programme provides a simple, seven-step framework that answers this question whilst empowering young people to make a difference in their school, local community and beyond. Since 1994, millions of young people around the world have worked through the Eco-Schools Seven Steps before being recognised for their efforts with a prestigious Eco-Schools Green Flag. Hartpury School's Eco-club worked hard in 2025 to secure the Eco-schools Green Flag award.

Eco- club are determined to continue their efforts as we move into 2026 and already have a super action plan of what they want to achieve at Hartpury - starting with a great project to help hedgehogs!
